Blue Cheese Butter

We are huge blue cheese fans here and it proved none the less true for this Sunday Cafe. A few Sundays ago I quickly stirred some blue cheese (a little crumbly bit in the bottom of the container) into soft butter to spread on our bread. Well that did it! By request......

Blue Cheese Butter
by the seat of my pants!

1/2 c butter
3/4 c crumbled blue cheese, divided
sprigs of your favorite herbs

Mash butter with a fork, stir in 1/2 c of the blue cheese crumbles. Mound attractively on a serving plate, sprinkle the remaining blue cheese over the top. Decorate with herb sprigs.

Serve with thick sliced french bread, heaven!

We had a lovely dinner, here is a bit of what was served.....

Pork Loin roasted with Mango Salsa
Family favorite lasagne

Starters included, tossed greens, with assortment of add-ons! Including roasted peppers and balsamic vinegar roasted red onion.

Pears and Fuji Persimmon with Gorgonzola cheese

Western baked beans

Not shown, butternut squash tossed with pesto and of course sliced french bread for that delicious Blue Cheese Butter.

Almond joy cake

Banana Bread.

As always, thanks for taking a moment to stop and say hello. I appreciate your time and your wonderful comments!

Our first fall, in the new house

This year in the new house has already been a year of many firsts, and now we move into our first fall. There have been changes made in the yard, both the front and the back. Fall promises to be refreshing and new, take a look.....

The Japanese Maple is turning in such a beautiful pattern.

We decided upon a 5 variety grafted apple tree for the front yard. This will be fun when spring comes again!

A trumpet vine for the corner of the house where the little cubbie shed covers the garbage and recycling cans, we thought we might as well make the area attractive.

We are the neighborhood favorite, with this catnip waiting to be planted. The spot has been picked, you know, some where a kitty can roll and play.....

New shade garden at the front door, we will add some hostas, but for new we have Japanese painted ferns and another flowering plant I cannot even begin to pronounce. Let me show a picture of it this spring, maybe I can master the name by then.........

Time to change the wreath by the front door, this one seems perfect.

Keeping tidy as we go along in this process. This picture is misleading however, just to the right is a huge pile of leaves and yard debris........

I did not like how these stacked, the enamel was going to chip away.

This large twig was scrubbed and cut to fit.

Much better, don't you think?

We hope to have a few more of these, as the days cool down. My husband is a big fan of roasted hot dogs, sounds good to me, especially on those long days when the evening beckons one, out of doors.

And of course more Sunday dinners.

As always, thanks for taking a moment to stop and say hello. I appreciate your time and your wonderful comments!

1000 post, and time to celebrate!

Things are smoothing out. Chores are getting caught up and it is time to say hello and get back to visiting all of you here.

I invite you to visit the new page I have put up and see the wonderful changes that have happened in my life!

In order to celebrate, I will be picking a random person, and sending a gift of something that we find in our travels in the next few days! You don't have to go anywhere or do anything, just leave me a comment.

It is nice to be back, thank you everyone for continuing to visit Mom's Sunday Cafe!

As always, thanks for taking a moment to stop and visit. I appreciate your time and your wonderful comments!
