Garden Tuesday, the one where I got a lot done!

Wow do I have a lot to report! I knew if I did not take a couple of days off, I would never get it done or caught up. Let's take a tour shall we? Let's start with the biggest chore first....

All of the cut wood got moved and stacked. Now there is room to store the wheelbarrow and various tools under the eve of the shed. The only wood that needs to be moved is fresh cut limbs. I can work on that as time allows.

The flower beds were reworked to add more perennials. They look very nice now!

I thought it best to place large planters on each side of the hose bib, these planters will give some protection when moving the hose to water the backyard and will be a good spot to plant annuals.

However the first thing I must do is clean out the hitchhiker!

A strawberry plant has been growing in the small amount of dirt left on the root ball of a dead rosemary plant. Funny what you will find in the garden when busy working, look here.....

yep a sprouted peanut.

Another task completed was a paver platform to put the BBQ on (and get it off the patio), take a look...

There are four more stones to make a platform for the smoker.

Rebuilt a proper ring around the tree in the front yard,

Put together the arbor for the climbing roses, move the rose at the end of the driveway (that was in the way) and brought the second one from the first house.

Built a compost station out of re-purposed pallets.

With the BBQ and the smoker in their own spaces, I was able to reclaimed the patio and made a comfortable place to sit, as well as a welcome sign and mat at the back slider.

Yes, we moved the rhubarb. I have made the decision this will be the last attempt to make that stuff grow! This could be their death bed........

They got fresh soil, mushroom compost and lots of room, they are probably sleeping better than me!

And a little bit of decorating....

It is starting to feel a lot like home.

Special thanks to my son, lots got done with his help.

As always thanks for taking a moment to stop and say hello. I appreciate your time and your wonderful comments!

That is one serious stack of wood!! Everything is shaping up. Where did the peanut come from???
I think I need one of those trellis's for my rose. Nice job on all of it.

You have done so much work--well done! The patio pavers are really great for the BBQ--a nice, level spot to cook. I also like your red sun decoration on the house--pretty. Take care--have a wonderful week!

You've been busy! I love gardening, and have really gotten into it this year. Granted, the coldest July on record in Alaska hasn't done wonderful things for my veggies, but my flowers are amazing! Haven't been by since my bloggy hiatus, but I'm glad to be back! (You may remember EKat's Kitchen, but I'm now Salmon At Seven.) Stop on by!!!
