Catered Wedding Reception July 9, 2011

Our day was long, starting at 7:00am packing up the truck. We arrived back home to go our separate ways at 10:00 pm.

Once we arrived at our destination, this had to be unpacked and taken into the kitchen. As it turned out, there was not convenient parking available for unloading, so we improvised and used the bus stop and unloaded quickly onto the sidewalk, so the truck could be moved to a proper parking spot.

That little building was a buzz with activity. The Wedding Planner was decorating, the music was being set up, and the cake delivered. But some of the folks were not as organized as by the seat of our pants.

The wedding planner is getting started in her business, and she had some great decorating ideas, but possibly was a bit overwhelmed. Here is my sister, taking care of business and helping out the Planner.

Here are our tables "staged" for presentation.
The food label cards were made by my daughter, I love how they look, nested in the grapes.

Once the stage had been set, time to concentrate on preparation of the dinner.

Yes the food must be delicious, but plating and garnishing is very important. Food for such an occasion, must also be beautiful.

I enjoy the presentation. I have had the opportunity to learn from each of the other two ladies, my daughter and my sister.

The menu, starting with the out of doors appetizers.

Salami, marinated vegetables, olive salad, fresh vegetable platter, fruit. A pesto cheese log and a cheddar based cheese log, each surrounded with fresh bread.

Moving indoors, tossed salad greens with balsamic vinaigrette, Fusilli with Sausage Meat Sauce, Penne
with plain (no meat) Marinara Sauce.

Lemon Herb Chicken Bites, Assortment of sliced breads, with Country Butter and Herb and Garlic  Olive oil for dipping.

Our little team works well together, and I think we will do this again. We were asked for our contact information.....

As always thanks to taking a moment to stop and say hello.
I appreciate your time and your wonderful comments!

PS today is the closing day for July Cookbook Sundays! What have you shared!

I'm sorry Melynda, I meant to say I will be featuring this post on Saturday -my poor little brain!! By the way, I'm sorry I did not get my recipe posted in time to link to Cookbook Sundays, but it will be up in time for the next one, and I will definitely share it!! (It's a Nigella one, and it really was yummy.)
