What we ARE NOT eating, Wednesday - Luncheon Meat Kabobs

This reminds me of the little easy to make campfire kabob meal from the early girl scout days, when you did not care what you were eating, you just wanted to be a girl scout and go camping! I loved scouts, but not the kabobs we made, funny I can't imagine eating this now.

Luncheon Meat Kabobs
not made from:  Southern Livings, Inflation Cookbook
will not serve: 4

Pretend you see a photo of the cook book here! For some reason blogger is not allowing the loading of photos. I don't mean to sound ungrateful to be able to have a "free" blog, but lets be real honest here. Blogger is making money from these "free" blogs and I am OK with that. But Blogger please get your issues fixed, fair is only fair if it is fair to all. This "free" blog is not a good deal for me if I am unable to update and post as wanted and needed. Thank you, rant over.

The intro:  none (I understand why)

Pretend you see a photo of the recipe page, with an unimportant kitchen tool laying on the page to keep the book open here.

I (12oz) can Luncheon Meat, cut into 12 cubes
8 small onions, cooked
2 large dill pickles, quartered
8 tomato wedges
melted margarine

Thread meat, onions, pickles and tomatoes alternately on four skewers beginning and ending with the meat. Brush vegetables with margarine. Place on broiler rack about 3 inches from heat. Broil until mat and vegetables are lightly browned, 6-8 minutes. Turn, broil on second side until browned. Yield 4 large kabobs.

Lets look at some things we do want to eat! Lets wander shall we.....

These folks had a blogger party, what a great idea! I am sure the food was spectacular....

Pork roast is a favorite here, this paste marinade sounds great.

Glazed fruit tarts, these are so pretty and that crust looks flaky, my favorite part!

Good morning Melynda! Don't even get me started on Blogger issues! My Google Friend Connect works "sometimes". So people may or may not be able to follow me depending on the mood of Blogger. Nice. And people are still having issues posting comments to certain blogs. I'm getting fed up. I didn't know uploading pics was a problem today. Thank goodness I did my strawberry pie post last night and just published it today. Anyway, your luncheon meat kabobs, while not as gross as some things you publish on Wednesday, are gross enough that I won't be eating them, lol! Have a great day!

Hi Melynda, yup, Blogger is at it again, I could not load my pics today!
The Luncheon Meat Kabobs doesn't sound quite so bad! It seems Ok, maybe I'll just swipe the dill pickles with some bell peppers! This might just work for me! LOL! :)

First you hit me with the kabobs and then you thrill me with pork tenderloin. Your blog is a roller coaster.

I can't load pictures or video either. And even worse, there are still many blogs I can't leave comments on.

But the idea of luncheon meat kabobs made me laugh. In a what the heck were they thinking kinda way!

I think I'll pass on the luncheon meat kabobs, LOL.

I too am having blogger issues. I can't leave comments on several blogs, which makes me sad. It took almost all day to be able to add a video to my blog....

I assume canned luncheon meat means Spam. Which I have never tasted but my husband has a childhood fondness for. He would probably love these!

Interesting that you mention Girl Scouts--I have a post in my cue of a recipe we used to make on Girl Scout camp outs and that I still love to this day.

Thanks for including my post.

The Blogger issues seem to be getting more frequent. It's like they want us to leave and go elsewhere.
