Weekend Cat Blogging, the treasure chest

This cat love treats, so much so he learned to beg. One day he just started doing this.....

Honey believes the cat learned this watching the squirrels who come to the back slider and stand up peering in to see if I am available to throw out a handful (or 2) of peanuts. After a few months of the cat watching this activity, he started begging. I am thinking Honey is probably right, with this thinking.

Getting back to those cat treats; the cat thinks he can beg through out the day for treats, and he does. Sometimes we weaken and give an extra couple just because (because we are suckers!). We always keep a good supply of treats, as running out would not work around here.

This is his treat chest of drawers.....

When he is not sitting on it, it also does double duty to hold a cup of coffee or can of pepsi, depending upon who is sitting in the chair. But inside are......

Treats!

The bottom drawer holds a shallow dish and the canister of treats. The other two drawers hold more bags of treats, cat nip toys and clean neckerchiefs. Needless to say, the cat is most happy when the bottom drawer is open! If I forget to close the drawer when he is finished eating, of course he expects more and will sit for the longest time by the open drawer, just waiting.

At that point I have to close the drawer, and he will finally go and do something else. Sometimes the something else is to just go off and sulk.
I have had a fun time with weekend cat blogging and showing off the interesting and fun cat that we get to live with.
As always I thank you for stopping by and,
I appreciate your visits and your comments.

This is so adorable! I have to send a link to my sister, we both melt over adorable pictures of cats. We both plan to be "crazy cat ladies" when we get old. :)

I look forward to weekend cat blogging like I look forward to what we're not eating. I can't let my 2 cats see your post or they'll want spiffy kerchiefs too!

That is too cute. He needs to be on America's funniest video's begging for his treats.

I cannot believe your cat actually holds begs with paws up and everything! I love it! My two are beggers too. But they pretty much just meow me to death..lol.

How sweet is that! I love cats. Does he have a catnip plant. They love those.

He's so pretty! I can't get over how much he looks like our Tuxie.

Our three cats get a treat once a week (1 can of wet food split 3 ways). They have to "sing for their supper" before they can have it. :)

Wow, what a cool trick! We have never heard of a cat learning a trick from a squirrel. Your kitty must be very smart! Maybe we should try that.
We're having a raffle right now to raise money for a doggie friend's medical treatment. Raffle tickets are just $1.00! We'd love it if you'd stop by! (Prizes will be displayed from now until March 12, then on March 13-15 you can "spend" your raffle tickets!)

PS - adorable neckerchief, too!

It truly is amazing how much we spoil our pets. But the unconditional love makes it worth it.
