Yes it is true, you can ask my family, or better yet, please don't!
With that said, I wanted to address the issue of blogger awards. I have received a few and given a few, so I know just enough to be dangerous.
I find that receiving a blogger award is joyful.
The giver has taken the time to declared that something I have done, or said or in my case didn't say was worthy of appreciation and acknowledgment. Then going from blog to blog to visit all those chosen is fun. There is a list of receivers of the same award as you (this tends to be a group offering, which is fine, I"m just sayin!) and you can find some other great blogs and make new friends in the process.
In a nutshell, that is one of the great by products of giving or getting a blogger award, friendship.
And now for the opposing side (man! there is one in every crowd, have you noticed?).
Sometimes the receiver does not have enough blogs on their reader or friend connect to fulfill the mandate of passing the award along. It is not that they don't want to, sometimes they can't, really. Maybe they are new to blogging, or maybe they have a more limited focus on the blogs they have time to read. Maybe they hold down a full time out of the house job and come home to the in-home job and family and just don't have the time to pay it forward.
I would like to think that, that does not make them a bad or neglectful blogger, just an over scheduled one!
So for me, I have decided that for any award I receive (and I have enjoy every one of them) that to pay it forward, I offer a declaration. Simply put, please accept my thanks and respect for what you do on your blog, even if you cannot pay it forward, because I believe that another way to show friendship, is in our understanding.
I appreciate your stopping by, and will enjoy reading any thought provoking comments. Thank you.
And by the way......

I completely understand what you are saying. It's such a sweet gesture of friendship when the awards are passed; but I never want to pass one to somebody and make them feel any obligation to do anything with it. I try to release the ones that I pass on by telling them that they don't have to pass it forward or answer the questions. I just want them to know that I have enjoyed "meeting" them and that I love their blog and want them to know that they have my respect. I hope that it is received in the same way. By the way, that's how I feel about you and your blog. Keep doing what you are doing. I love it!
It is a hard thing! I feel that if we acknowledge the good intentions and say thank you then that is the true spirit of the awards, but I guess it is a very personal choice on whether to participate in passing on awards. There is only so much time to devote to blogging and it can be hard to keep up!
I'm agreeing with you. The award thing is nice. I'm sure every one is well intended. When you receive a gift, the first thing to do is say "thank you." Passing it along may be fun and to do so is gracious. The giver doesn't want to cause pain or challenge to the receiver. It's optional.
Very well said Melynda. I always like to thank the blogger that has passed it on to me as I do appreciate the thought and gesture. However, I often spend too much time on this blog as it is so I never answer the questions or pass it on. I'm not trying to be rude, I simply don't have the time. I always hope the giver understands that. Great post!
You are fantastic! Well put, there can be so much community in the blogging world and sometimes it is hard to find balance. All things in moderation....
I am stoked to have come across your blog!
Cheers to a fellow WA!
