What we ARE NOT eating, Wednesday, Snickers under a blanket

" oh baby it's cold outside"

A true statement for our winter weather, but we won't be eating Snickers Under a Blanket. The Phony Gourmet is a fun read! These local ladies have a ball in the kitchen and tell it like it is. They are sisters and great friends to each other, as well. There are some really good recipes that are a cut above for the quick preparation involved/needed. But.......no, we won't be eating

Snickers Under a Blanket
from:  The Phony Gourmet
375 degree oven

1 sheet frozen Puff Pastry
2 (2.1 oz) Snickers candy bars
1/4 t water

Thaw the pastry sheet for 20 minutes. Roll out on a floured board and cut two 7X4 rectangles.

Place candy car upside down in the middle of the sheet. Wrap so that the pastry will be double on the bottom. (They are going to bake upside down.) Seal by using 1/4 teaspoon water along edges and use a fork to mash the ends closed. (If the Snickers aren't sealed tightly, there won't be much of a laugh when you have to scrape Mr. Snickers cooked guts off the cookie sheet.)

Place each bundle on its seam on an un-greased cookie sheet. With a small knife make 3 tiny vents (about 1/4 inch) in the top of each bundle.

Bake in a 375 degree oven for 20 minutes. Cut each bundle in half. Good served with vanilla ice cream.
Serves 4

Moving on, lets see where some wandering might take us. Speaking of the cold, how about soup?

From Reeni, this soup looks like a bowl of deliciousness. I can't wait to try this one.

This is not so bad! LOL! I won't make this, but if I'm offered a piece, maybe I would try!

Sounds healthier than a deep fried candy bar but I think I'll just savor the Snickers plain. Cute post.

I would so eat that! That is, if I could convince myself to buy the puff pastry...it's kind of pricey, I think. It reminds me of the deep fried candy bars they sell at the State Fair.

I agree with the other "commentors" I would totally eat that! One million times better than the vienna sausage in the pancake thing. Great, now I want a candy bar.

This is okay I would eat them.

Oops, I completely forgot. (But I told you my brain was missing). I'm with you on this one--I would not eat it.

Hmmmm, I think I'll live dangerously and eat my snickers RAW!
