So far I have......
Learned a different part of Portland Oregon, across the state line I cross, to go to work each day. Which requires that I take one route to work, but have the option of an easier route home, due to angled streets and no left turn rules.
Got checked for tuberculosis, again, as required in health care positions. (I still do not have it, thankfully)
Have been issued a name badge and keys.
Learned the lay out of the building, and the oddities associated with an older and aged building.
Have now moved on to application of known skills, to this specific position.
Noticed today I am getting a cold, just like when you travel to a different country and are exposed to "foreign" germs!
I am meeting and learning about the residents, their needs and personalities.
I have really missed being here, at home, writing and cooking and posting. And all you folks!
On the home front.........
I have not cooked (so far) this week, lots of leftovers from Sunday Cafe.
Wednesday blew by so fast, I forgot to post my mid week links - sorry.
I have started a new knitting project.
We love the pellet stove!
The leaves are turning into such beautiful colors, before they fall. I want to get some "mowed" up for mulch.
I need to assess where I am on my Christmas gift list and what had been completed.
I want to snuggle in a cozy blanket for most of the weekend and work on getting over this cold.
Remember to change the clocks this weekend!
Get better organized, to have time and subject matter to post here, and spend some time with all of you!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Starting a new job is definitely always rough but I'm sure you'll learn to find your way around. And having constant TB tests is definitely not one of the perks of the medical profession. It's only inevitable that one will turn up positive eventually...
Have a great weekend!
Melynda, my friend, you have had a very busy (stressful) week. No wonder you feel a cold coming on, but at least you have a nice new heater to keep you warm. Wrap up and rest. We will all still be here when you get into your new routine. Congratulations on finishing your first week at a new job--it will all get easier from here. (I love those napkins!)
Good luck at the new gig! You know what's silly? All this time I thought you were in BC. I had no idea it was Vancouver, WA. Now, I feel silly! You should check out my friend's restaurant-- Siam Society on Alberta Street. It's the best! xo
Melynda, the first week at a new job is always the roughest. Before you know it you'll be all settled in and it will be like you worked there forever. Take care of yourself this weekend and don't worry about us. As Sage Trifle said, we will be here. :o)
As much as I love change, I don't like the "new" part of new jobs - don't like when it gets old and we get burnt out either, but there is always a nice year or two in between :-)
Sounds like you have been very busy! I'm right there with you on not being able to cook lately, hate when that happens, ack!
Don't you just love having a fridge full of good leftovers? Makes week nights, especially on tough weeks, easier.
