We must parent ourselves sometimes and that includes boundaries!
I would of much rather set some whole wheat dough to rise using a recipe I found on a website, or sipped another cup of coffee and listen to the birds in the backyard. Or anything else and I do mean anything else, other than an application. But I wish to change jobs and therefore I must apply!
When I began this blog I had no agenda. I did not necessarily want a place to vent or tell the world how to live. I thought of it as an adventure. A place of friendship and showing a part of my little world.
It tends to evolve into a diary of sorts, where it is refreshing to "confess" small infractions of self. For example, I do use instant pudding, I won't give up my dishwasher to be more "green", things along that line. Also, I do need to eat more vegetables and less carbs, exercise more, clean more, eat less and probably talk less!!
I get to come home tonight to a cooked dinner, Honey is making spaghetti for our supper. I requested that he cook no pasta for me, I like to eat my sauce over broccoli with a good (read that lots!) sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. The new layout in the kitchen is nice, and the whole area is easier to clean. Win, win for everyone.
Here is another recipe using the All Purpose Convenience Mix.
Apple Cinnamon Roll Ups
450F/350F
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c sugar
2 T butter
dash salt
1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg
Bring all ingredients to a boil, boil 2 - 3 minutes. Pour into an 8X8 inch baking pan, set aside to cool.
2 c Convenience mix
1/2 c water
1 T very soft butter
2 c coarsely grated tart apples
1/2 c sugar
2 t cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg
Combine Convenience mis and water in a large bowl, stir with a fork (25 strokes) to mix well. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface into a 8 X 8 inch square. Spread with the soft butter, layer over in the following order: grated apples, sugar and then spices. Roll up as for a jelly roll, sealing the edges very well. Cut into 8 slices each 1 inch thick. Place slices cut side down into syrup in baking pan.
Bake 450 10 minutes, reduce oven temperature to 350, bake an additional 15-20 minutes until done. Serve with the pan syrup spooned over, and vanilla ice cream.
Serves 8
Enjoy!
